BLOG-QAGOMA Christmas Design Market

In all my years of shopping I have never attended an event like our Christmas Design Market. Bursting with creativity, this thoughtfully curated market is filled with local artisans selling everything from clothing to homewares.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 26. I always give the best presents – and this is my secret!

It doesn’t matter if I am in the mood for diamonds, silver, gold or a pop of colour – I know I can find whatever jewellery I need across our stores. At the moment I am loving local jeweller Holly Ryan and her classic, timeless pieces.

My pick for the season are her ‘Mini Squiggle Earrings’. These lightweight beauties are perfect for all occasions.

Mini Squiggle Earrings Sterling Silver / $180

I love smelling good, and the Comme des Garcons pocket store at GOMA makes it oh-so-easy! Their range of unisex fragrances can take you effortlessly from day to night. At the moment I love the seductive Floriental – a smouldering scent that combines labdanum, sandalwood, vetiver, incense, pink pepper and plum liqueur.

This mesmerising book offers a tantalising view into the lives of the rich and famous. It showcases the women who inspired Slim Aarons in the most glamourous environments – her photography instantly transports me to a seemingly blissful world of mansions, luxe fashion and fun.

Dinosaur Designs homewares are not only gorgeous, but multifunctional too! I use these small resin bowls as salt and pepper pinch pots, side dishes and also for my jewellery. With a great variety of colours and shapes available, I am spoiled for choice.

BLOG-Frida at Home Large

Abound with colour and life, this stunning monograph explores what home meant to Frida and how it inevitably influenced her art. Offering an amazing insight into her beloved Blue House (or La Casa Azul), with rare photographs of her and her family, this book is an absolute favourite in my collection.

A sophisticated selection of design objects, contemporary art merchandise, gifts and a stunning range of jewellery by Australian and international designers with a handmade focus.
