APT8 Publications

APT8 reflects the vigour of creative centres throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific. With an emphasis on performance and representations of the body, the exhibition explores artists’ use of the human form to express cultural, social and political ideas in times of enormous change.

Expanding on the thematic focuses of the Triennial, this compact exhibition catalogue features illustrated essays by the exhibition’s curators that provide insights into art practices and draw connections between works from across the Asia Pacific region. These are contextualised by a discussion between leading artists and specialists on key issues in the region’s contemporary art. The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art catalogue also includes details of the associated Kids’ APT, and a comprehensive list of works.

In Draw, Make, Create, ten APT8 artists from Australia, Asia and the Pacific share their ideas with children about what inspires them to make art. Features exciting, contemplative and playful art-making activities with a focus on drawing.

APT8 is 288 pages full of colour illustrations and features a suite of richly illustrated essays by the exhibition’s curators
